    reporting on the last week...

early last week was awesome.   i got to work as a production assistant for the taping of a new PBS show called Real Simple. The NY crew was down here shooting segments and i got to help out....i went to the airport like 3 or 4 times, picked up lunch for the crew, ran random errands (including a cigarette and coke run for Glen, the head camera guy). Those three days were some of the best of my life. I felt like i was in my element. I know i want to work in that kind of business...more in the live, newsanchor stuff, but nonetheless...i want that.

it was so awesome getting to know the people there. wednesday was my favorite day...the crew split into two, so i was left driving a smaller group of people, and got to talk to them on a more individual level...i enjoyed meeting and working with all of them. one of the producers, Audrey had worked on TLC's A Baby Story, which i thought was pretty cool.    I also got to meet Vic, the audio guy, with whom i have a mutual acquaintance at WRAS...i am actually going to Vic's wedding in a few weeks haha....obviously he wasnt IN the NY crew, rather worked with local production with the NY crew...so anyways...something else that i thought was neat, not only did one of the hosts of Real Simple ride in the back of MY car, but she was on Good Day Atlanta like two days later...since i am a geek, i naturally felt really special.

i really hope that this is something i can do when i get older. something that Hilary taught me back a few weeks ago when i was in New York, is to not settle for the norm. Don't go for second-best. And that's what i intend to do. I want to anchor the news, so why should i just go for an office assistant at some news agency?

in other news, Macy won the principal's award at Yeager...for those of you who don't know, its supposedly the highest honor you can receive....i was able to be there, so i got to see her accept it...Michelle was crying, i was teary-eyed, and the crowds were cheering in the stands...it was like a movie.   haha

ive been able to see a lot more of rachel lately. that has been nice :) i have been to Crazy Al's more in the past 2 weeks than in the past 3 months.    if you don't believe me, smell my smoke-stenched clothing.

i also got to see yuliya a few times as well....

i talk so much...which brings me to my next topic of discussion.

im thinking of going to a private live journal....reasons being...the only reason i write in here is to let folks know what is going on in my life.   no one ever responds with comments, so i am assuming no one reads (which is okay.)   i figure, i dont want to stop writing, so why not just keep a private journal, that way i can write whatever, instead of censoring it for readers.

so yeah, if i leave, its not cause xanga is below me, because i have a new-found addiction to myspace, or because im just too cool period....it is becausei feel there is no reason to write abstracts of my life (as if it was some daily scientific research report) when no one reads them

50 million graduations to go to this weekend...i will definitely be at my alma mater's...

o yeah, and yet ANOTHER one of my friends just got engaged. o my.

    thank you.

    signing off-

memories from my pasts, prospects for my future

yesterday was awesome.     myself and some other Fish people went to the Natalie Grant concert in Roswell....she has quite a set of lungs on her...quite attractive as well if i do say so myself      I got to meet her after the show and got a picture taken...

I never got to write about my trip to NYC...it was most definitely a good idea to take a trip up there and see Hilary...especially after all of the stress that schooling gives to yours truly. While there we saw in the crowds Paul Rudd, Tim Daly, David Blaine (lol), and Joanna Kerns (from Growing Pains) with whom we got to take a picture...i felt like such a dork, but when i initially saw her turn to talk to the people that she was with, i about died....she is still very much a celebrity in my book...this trip to Manhattan was different from the other 13 or so, i got to see it with someone who actually resides there....we ate at several diners, visited several coffee shops, ate some delicious food...and had a wonderful time....it still shocks me that i can get on a plane by myself...i really enjoyed my time with Hilary!

Macy is turning 14 on Monday....she is going to be freshmen next year. I feel extremely old. I had some free time the other day and decided to visit my old neighborhood. So much has changed, yet so much has stayed the same. Time really goes by so fast. June 5 will mark the 8th year we have lived in the Winston community.   Seems just like yesterday that my bedroom was right next to my parents. Seems just like yesterday that i was blowing the fuzzy things off those flowers, that i was playing kickball with all of my old friends, that i was jumping on a neighbor's trampoline or playing in the treehouse at Zach's.........a time when life was so simple. I can still feel the way that the dirty part of the driveway (where my dad parked his truck) felt on my bare feet, getting bit my ants, running around on the grass, swimming in the pool.  It also phased me that two people who grew up on my street are no longer living.....Stevie, who died in a house fire about 10 years ago, and Lindsey, a childhood friend, who after getting married and having a baby, died of an aneurysm just a few months ago.

yet life goes on. some of us grow up and change, some of us stay in the past. i miss the good ole days, but i look to the future with hope and promise.
